Anticipating the Price Tag! Mercedes-Benz CLA 250+ — Possibly the Best Benz EV Right Now
ลุ้นค่าตัว 2.49 ล้าน ปีหน้าเจอกัน!!Mercedes Benz CLA 250+ ว่าที่รถไฟฟ้าที่ดีที่สุดของ Benz ในตอนนี้
This is genuinely one of the most exciting EVs I've seen from Mercedes-Benz. The tech is cutting-edge, the design is gorgeous, and having driven it abroad already, I came away seriously impressed — now I just need to confirm how the local version stacks up.
First Impressions
Walking up to the Mercedes-Benz CLA 250+ for the first time is an experience. This thing looks like nothing else in the current Benz lineup — low, sleek, and dripping with modernity. The front grille alone has 142 individual LED stars, and the three-pointed star sits proudly above a radar sensor array that tells you immediately this car means business on the tech front.
I had the chance to drive this car overseas already, and I came away calling it one of the best-driving EVs I've ever been behind the wheel of. Seeing it here, knowing it'll be locally assembled, genuinely excites me.
Design and Exterior
The coupe-like silhouette is the real showstopper. It sits low — roughly shoulder height on me — which gives it that planted, athletic stance. The chrome trim running along the sides, the AMG-branded alloy wheels wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 rubber, and those spectacular 3D LED tail lights all come together beautifully.
Around back, the powered tailgate opens to reveal a decent boot, though height is limited by the sloping roofline. There's no spare tire, just a repair kit. Up front, you get a frunk for extra storage — always a welcome bonus on an EV. The flush door handles pop out automatically when you unlock, adding to the premium feel.
Interior and Tech
Step inside and you're greeted by a triple-screen setup stretching across the dashboard — a 10.25-inch instrument cluster flanked by two 14-inch displays. The passenger screen can play YouTube while driving, but here's the clever bit: a driver-facing camera monitors your gaze, and the moment you glance at the passenger screen, it cuts the video. Smart safety thinking.
The MB.OS operating system is the real headline. It integrates Google Maps, Gemini AI, and ChatGPT. I tested this abroad and was blown away — you can ask it for charging stations with clean restrooms, or romantic restaurants in Chiang Mai, and it delivers. The built-in eSIM provides three years of free connectivity across three carriers, so you never need to tether your phone.
Materials inside are a mix of recycled white fabric panels and soft leather, with 64-color ambient lighting adding a premium glow. The sports seats with red accent stitching look fantastic. Two-zone climate control, wireless charging, and USB-C ports throughout round out the package.
Driving Experience
Based on my overseas drive, the CLA 250+ rides with a beautifully judged balance — soft and comfortable enough for daily use, yet with a hint of sportiness that keeps things engaging. The 272 horsepower and 792 Nm of torque make acceleration genuinely thrilling, and the chassis feels tight and well-sorted through corners.
I haven't yet driven the locally assembled version, so I can't confirm whether the suspension tuning and handling will be identical. That's the big question I'm eager to answer once the local cars arrive. But if it's anywhere close to what I experienced abroad, this will be a standout.
Range and Charging
The 85 kWh battery delivers a claimed range of around 800 km, which is seriously impressive for a car this size. The 800V architecture supports DC fast charging at up to 320 kW — not quite the 400 kW some competitors are promising, but still blisteringly fast in the real world. AC charging tops out at 22 kW, which is solid for overnight home charging.
For anyone with range anxiety, this car effectively kills that concern. 800 km is enough to drive from Bangkok to Chiang Mai and back with room to spare.
Safety and Driver Assistance
The CLA 250+ comes loaded with Level 2 driver-assistance features. Six cameras provide a comprehensive surround-view system, and radar sensors are placed all around the body. The standout feature is an emergency stop system — if the car detects the driver has become incapacitated, it will safely guide itself to the roadside and stop. That's genuinely reassuring tech to have.
Final Verdict
The Mercedes-Benz CLA 250+ is shaping up to be the most technologically advanced and emotionally exciting EV in the local luxury segment. The combination of striking design, enormous range, cutting-edge AI infotainment, and a driving experience I already know is excellent makes this a compelling package.
My only reservations are minor — the first batch misses out on the adjustable-tint panoramic roof, the rear center tunnel is a bit intrusive, and I need to verify the local car drives as well as the one I sampled overseas. But honestly, if you're in the market for a premium EV sedan, this should be the one you're waiting for.
