I drove this overseas and came away genuinely impressed — it's the most exciting European EV coming to Thailand next year. The tech, the range, the performance, and the fact that it's assembled locally under 2.5M baht makes it a serious contender.
Driving Experience
I drove it abroad and it felt semi-sporty with a smooth, refined ride — not harsh, but with just enough edge to keep things interesting. I haven't driven the Thai-spec version yet so I want to wait before making a final call on handling and suspension tuning.
Pros
- 142-star LED grille is genuinely stunning
- 800V architecture with 320kW DC fast charging
- 800km claimed range is class-leading
- Triple-screen cockpit looks and works brilliantly
- AI-powered OS with Gemini, ChatGPT, Google Assistant built in
- 6-camera surround system covers every angle
- Built locally in Thailand keeping price under 2.5M
- Frunk adds useful extra storage
- eSIM with 3 carriers included free for 3 years
Cons
- First batch has fixed panoramic roof — no tint adjustment
- Frunk repair costs after a front collision still unknown
- Spare tire replaced by puncture repair kit only
- Physical controls replaced by just two stalks — polarizing
- Partition between triple screens slightly interrupts interior flow
- Thai-spec wheel design not yet confirmed
- DC charging slightly behind BMW's new 400kW spec
Value for Money
Under 2.5M baht for 800V tech, 800km range, and full L2 driver assistance puts this ahead of anything comparable from a European brand next year in Thailand. If the price lands around 2.49M as expected, you're getting a lot of car for the money — especially with no serious European EV rival in sight until BMW catches up.
Verdict
If you want the most technologically advanced European EV in Thailand next year, the CLA 250+ is it — nothing else from the same league comes close right now. Skip it only if you need more ground clearance or genuinely prefer a Chinese brand's value proposition.

This thing genuinely surprised me — a full EV Mercedes with nearly 800km WLTP range at an entry-level price point is something nobody would have believed two years ago. The driving character is properly engaging, the tech is a genuine leap forward, and the size is bigger than it looks.
Driving Experience
The suspension is tuned firm and communicative rather than soft and isolating, which keeps things genuinely fun for a car this size. The two-speed gearbox is a real differentiator — you get snappy instant torque off the line and then it shifts up for efficiency at cruising speed, and I could barely tell it was an EV until I braked hard and felt all that battery weight push forward.
Pros
- Nearly 800km WLTP range is a genuine anxiety-killer
- Two-speed gearbox gives best of both acceleration and efficiency
- 800V architecture with 320kW DC fast charging
- Three Regen levels including full one-pedal and full coast modes
- 101-liter frunk — a first for Mercedes
- New MBOS operating system is noticeably faster and more fluid
- Passenger display with YouTube while driving is genuinely clever
- Bigger than it looks — C-Class width and height at a lower price
Cons
- Doors drop windows halfway open — rain and mosquitoes get in easily
- Boot is only 405 liters due to rear motor placement
- No electric steering wheel adjustment
- Window switches consolidated into a confusing two-switch setup
- White synthetic leather on rear seats will likely show dirt fast
- No physical start button — will divide opinion
- Rear seat angle is too flat for long journeys
- AI features like Gemini and ChatGPT not fully testable at launch
Value for Money
If the price lands around 2.3 million baht as expected, you're getting C-Class size, full premium EV tech, and an 800km range figure in a Mercedes badge — that combination simply didn't exist at this price two years ago. If you have this budget and want an EV, it absolutely belongs on your shortlist.
Verdict
This is the reset Mercedes needed after the EQS and EQE struggled to win hearts, and it delivers where it counts — range, driving feel, and a genuinely new tech platform. Skip it if you need a proper family hauler; buy it if you want a premium EV that's actually fun to drive.
