XPeng G6 Long Range RWD Review: 285 hp, 440 Nm Torque - Premium EV Experience

1.599 ล้าน!!ลอง Xpeng G6 Long Range RWD พละกำลัง 285 ม้า 440 นิวตันเมตร option เต็มติแค่ Handling

The XPeng G6 Long Range is a genuinely impressive electric SUV with class-leading technology, sharp handling, and legitimate performance that punches well above its weight. My only real gripe is the steering feel doesn't match the car's sporting intent, and the dual-zone climate control struggles to keep rear passengers comfortable.

First Impressions

Walking up to the XPeng G6, I was struck by how purposeful it looks without trying too hard. The proportions feel right—it's genuinely handsome in a way that doesn't scream 'Chinese EV' the way some competitors do. The sleek LED front end is well executed, though some might find it slightly understated compared to sportier rivals. What matters more is what's underneath: this is a proper technology showcase.

Design & Build Quality

The exterior is cohesive and well-assembled. The panoramic glass roof spans most of the ceiling—a bold choice for hot climates, and I'll address that later. Panel gaps are tight, paint feels solid, and the overall fit and finish justifies the premium positioning. Inside, the mix of materials is genuinely impressive: soft-touch plastics where you touch, proper wood-look trim, and metal accents don't feel cheap. It feels more buttoned-up than most segment rivals.

The 12-camera, 31-sensor safety suite is the most comprehensive in its class. Full LED adaptive headlights with automatic high beam, multiple LiDAR sensors, and radar all work in concert. This is proper autonomous-driving-ready hardware, not gimmickry.

Technology & Features

The dual 14.9-inch and 12-inch AMOLED displays are sharp and responsive, running Snapdragon processors that don't feel laggy like some rivals. Integration is seamless—Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto both work flawlessly. The voice command system understands requests from all four seats and attributes commands correctly, which sounds simple but trips up plenty of rivals.

But the standout technology is the parking system. Tap the app, and the car will autonomously back itself into tight spaces—without you inside the car. It's not new elsewhere, but I haven't seen it executed this intuitively before. The adaptive cruise control reads road geometry ahead and automatically adjusts speed through corners, which works disturbingly well at highway speeds.

The 800V battery architecture and 280kW DC charging capability is genuinely Class-leading for this price point. Even Porsche doesn't charge faster at this segment.

Driving Experience

In Eco mode, the G6 is genuinely efficient and approachable. Standard mode is where it gets interesting—responsive without being aggressive. Sport mode is properly quick, pushing 286 hp through a single motor with real urgency. The double-wishbone front and multi-link independent rear suspension is properly sorted. Ride quality is firm but never harsh; the chassis manages rough pavement without the brittle feel you get in sportier rivals.

Here's my honest take: the G6 drives better than its modest exterior suggests. It's not a sports car, but it's not trying to be. The steering—being electric power-assisted—lacks the precision feedback needed for proper involvement. It's accurate enough for daily driving but doesn't feel alive. That's my only real dynamic disappointment.

Interior Comfort & Climate

The rear legroom is genuinely spacious, and the adjustable headrests are more versatile than expected. The problem is the dual-zone climate control can't keep rear passengers happy when front passengers crank their temperature down. This needs to be three-zone minimum—a real oversight for a premium offering.

The panoramic glass roof looks stunning but lives up to its reputation for heat gain. Even with good thermal insulation on the glass, it warms the cabin noticeably on hot days. There's no motorized sunshade, which feels like a missed opportunity in Thailand's climate.

USB-C fast charging (60W) at both front and rear is practical. Wireless charging would've been nice but isn't essential. The reclined seat positions are genuinely comfortable for long-distance rear-seat travel.

Verdict

The XPeng G6 Long Range is the most comprehensively equipped compact electric SUV I've tested in this price range. It's not the most fun to drive—that crown belongs to rivals with better steering—but it's the smartest, best-protected, and most practical choice if you value technology and real-world features.

It's built to the level of cars that cost significantly more. The real question is: at what price will XPeng Thailand position this? If it undercuts the obvious competitor (Deepal S07) while delivering clearly superior technology, it's a no-brainer. If pricing creeps higher, the decision gets harder.

Pros

  • 31 sensor points and 12 cameras—most comprehensive safety suite in segment
  • 800V charging system with 280kW capability is genuinely cutting-edge for the price
  • Interior feels upmarket with quality materials and thoughtful design
  • Rear seat adjustability and passenger controls are genuinely useful
  • Adaptive cruise control and parking functions work flawlessly and intuitively
  • Suspension tuning is excellent—both firm and compliant where it matters
  • Double-wishbone front, multi-link rear with independent suspension all around

Cons

  • Electric power steering lacks feedback and precision in sporty driving
  • Dual-zone climate doesn't reach rear passengers effectively—should be 3-zone minimum
  • Panoramic glass roof gets hot and reflects glare despite good insulation
  • Rear AC vents lack power compared to front climate control
  • Steering doesn't match the car's sporting acceleration and chassis capability
  • Small text on infotainment screens even at largest setting

Verdict

7.5/10

The XPeng G6 Long Range is one of the most well-rounded electric SUVs I've tested in this segment. It's not a hardcore sports SUV, but it doesn't pretend to be—it's a genuinely capable, tech-forward family hauler that happens to drive better than expected. Worth serious consideration if the price lands right.
